Carnival Corporation has released details of the upcoming renovation of its 2,640-passenger Carnival Destiny.
The new ship, which will be called Carnival Sunshine, is due to go for a 49-day dry dock in Italy before re-entering service in April 2013.
The works are estimated to cost in the region of US$155 million and will include the features which are being rolled out across the firm’s ‘Fun Ship 2.0’ enhancement programme plus other specific upgrades.
The ship will be fitted with Carnival’s longest waterslide, an Asian restaurant and Havana bar.
The line is also running a competition on its Facebook page where it will give away a free cruise on Carnival Sunshine for submitting before and after photos of a space that has been transformed incorporating ‘sunshine’.
