Emirates has doubled the number of Airbus A380 flights it offers New York and Paris, with twice daily superjumbo services from Dubai now operating into both cities.
Upgrading capacity into New York’s John F. Kennedy airport by 1,848 seats per week, flights EK203 and EK204 will now be operated by the A380. The second daily A380 service departs Dubai at 0225, while the return leg leaves JFK at 1040. In Paris, an additional 2,198 seats per week will be added, with flights EK075 and EK076 now using the A380, departing Dubai at 1500. The return service will depart Paris Charles de Gaulle airport at 2110.
“The decision to commit a second A380 to both New York and Paris is a clear indication of customer demand,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president of passenger sales worldwide. “New York and Paris are both important routes for Emirates and its customers. Adding larger capacity aircraft is central to helping us meet growing passenger demand and will also boost economic support for American and French international commerce.”
The Emirates fleet of 31 A380s currently serves 21 destinations, with new cities expected to be announced in the coming months. Emirates also has the largest number of A380s on order, with its fleet size expected to grow to 90 by 2017. In 2012 alone, Emirates added 11 A380s to its fleet.
