Korean Air has launched its inaugural flight to Houston.
The new non-stop service from Seoul touched down at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport on 2 May, and will now operate daily using a Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
“Korean Air is excited about serving Houston and the Gulf coast,” said John Jackson, the airline’s vice president of passenger marketing & sales for the Americas. “There are enormous opportunities here and we are proud and honoured to be a part of the dynamic Houston business community.”
The new service will depart Seoul’s Incheon International Airport every day at 0910, arriving in Houston at 0840 the next day. The return flight will then leave the Texas city at 1040, getting back into Seoul at 1530, two days after it first departed the Korean capital.
“The partnership being established between Korean Air and air passengers in Houston will undoubtedly prove to be mutually beneficial,” commented Houston’s aviation director, Mario C. Diaz. “Korean Air gains access to one of the most dynamic economies and fastest growing populations in the world, while passengers in Houston find themselves with direct access to both Seoul and other key destinations located throughout Southeast Asia.”
Korean Air already operates more flights to the US than any other Asian carrier, with direct services to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington DC.
