Abacus International has launched a new tool designed to offer more travel content to agents in Asia Pacific.
Unveiled to the industry at the Abacus International Conference (AIC), which is taking place this week in Abu Dhabi, Abacus ContentPlus aggregates an array of travel content, including air, hotel, car, insurance and ground products, which can be sold on their own or as part of a package.
The aggregation of this content from a range of sources means that travel agents will no longer have to access multiple systems; all content will be accessible within a single point-of-sale and bookable under the same Passenger Name Record (PNR).
“We are solving the problem of content fragmentation, while making travel agents so much more productive and competitive,” said Abacus’ chief marketing officer, Martin Symes.
For accommodation, Abacus RoomDeal, in partnership with Indonesian bedbank MG Group, will channel net rates from up to 25 hotel content aggregators.
Building on Abacus’ existing low-cost carrier content, the addition of UK-based Travelfusion content will offer agents fares from more than 180 budget airlines, with ancillary products and services also being phased in.
Abacus ContentPlus will also integrate City Discovery’s portfolio of destination products, introducing 8,000 activities, attractions, event ticketing, tours and airport transfers, while Cartrawler provides pre-paid rentals from over 1,200 car rental suppliers and chauffeur driven services in 30,000 destinations. Insurance company AIG completes the range of launch content providers.
Planned future phases will see further additions to Abacus ContentPlus, including rail, cruise, ferry and coach products.
