Accor sees revenue growth

Accor’s hotel division has a 2.7% boost in revenue in 2012 compared to the previous year.
The hotel chain posted EUR5.4bn in revenue last year with more growth seen amongst its budget brands than the midscale and high-end. Occupancy for its upscale and midscale properties sat at 65.5% with its economy hotels at 69.3%.
For the year ending 31 December 2012 the group integrated 226 new hotels into its portfolio totaling 38, 085 rooms, passing its target of 35,000.
The group now has a total of 450,000 rooms with 37% in emerging markets such as Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Having switched to a predominant management or franchise business model in the last year, the group is expected to release a new strategy on 20 February.
