Bath Tourism Plus (BTP) has teamed up with Bath Rugby to promote sports tourism to the city.
As part of its initiatives staff in the Visitor Information Centre will wear rugby shirts on matchdays and will sell game tickets alongside merchandise.
As part of the tie-up, an accommodation booking widget will be placed on Bath Rugby’s website so rooms and tickets can be bought together with attraction and events tickets.
“The impact of Bath Rugby on the city’s tourism economy cannot be understated: not only do retailers, restaurants and bars feel the financial impact on match days, but the city also benefits from great TV coverage as broadcasters delight in the beautiful city backdrop to the Rec,” said Nick Brooks-Sykes, chief executive at BTP.
“I am therefore pleased that BTP is forging an even stronger working relationship with Bath Rugby Club and that our new, strategic partnership is beginning to deliver results for both parties,” he added.
