airberlin is celebrating Star Trek’s 50th anniversary with the launch of a special themed aircraft.
The popular sci-fi series turns 50 on 8 September 2016, and airberlin has created a special aircraft livery to mark the occasion. The new paintwork features a raised hand showing a traditional Vulcan greeting, and a logo proclaiming ’50 Years of Star Trek’.
The Airbus A320 aircraft has already entered service on the Dusseldorf-Rome route and will be deployed across the German carrier’s European network in September.
The aircraft will also feature Star Trek headrest covers and will carry 100,000 limited edition “Spock bags”, which will be offered to passengers.
