Bruce Martin, operations director for Online Travel Training (OTT), is to leave the company later this year.
During his six years with OTT, Martin was instrumental in the development of the online training platform, which went through a re-launch at World Travel Market last year with a new gamification function for its travel agent users.
Guillaume Massey, who recently joined the company as sales director, will be assuming part of Martin’s responsibilities, including managing the launch of the OTT/Travel Daily Media partnership. This will give readers the opportunity to qualify in more than 120 courses through the Travel Daily Media website.
Massey added that Martin will be truly missed and was an integral part of OTT’s success.
Martin started his travel industry career in 1994 at Gulliver Travel Associates, before moving to Far & Wide Travel, then into recruitment with C&M Travel Recruitment and New Frontiers.
Martin said in a statement: “OTT has been an immensely enjoyable and satisfying challenge and it’s a wrench to leave. We’ve achieved so much in the last six years; building the business from scratch to be the world’s largest provider of free travel agent eLearning. I am particularly proud that OTT has so far generated more than a quarter of a million training course passes – increasing travel agent knowledge and expertise which is so vital in today’s market.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to have worked with some amazingly talented people both at OTT and in the wider travel industry. I have no doubt that OTT can now build on its strong foundations to push on to the next stage of its global development and I wish the team every success.
“Whilst it’s sad to be leaving, I’m also excited about what the future holds. It’s a great time to be working in travel with a huge amount of opportunity for businesses with the right online focus and approach. I look forward to my next challenge within travel and to working again with many of the great people I have met and worked with during the last six years.”
