Eurowings makes BASIC fare available through Sabre as part of “largescale growth plan”

The Lufthansa Group’s low-cost airline Eurowings has expanded its agreement with leading global travel technology provider Sabre Corporation by making its BASIC fare available through the Sabre travel marketplace.

Through an API, Sabre-connected travel agents are now able to shop and book Eurowings’ budget fare, BASIC, which caters for travellers that only want to pay for the flight itself. This is in addition to the carrier’s other two fare types – its standard fare SMART and its premium fare BEST – which are also available through Sabre.

Alessandro Ciancimino, vice president EMEA, supplier commerce at Sabre, said: “Eurowings is undertaking a largescale growth plan that is built on serving both price-sensitive and service-oriented customers. This means giving both business and leisure travellers the ability to book low-cost basic fares as well as the option to add a wide range of extra services to suit their individual needs.

“By making its BASIC fare available through Sabre, Eurowings will reach an unrivalled network of agents, helping it to grow within a competitive marketplace.”
