A new Launchpad area and the Travel Technology Disrupt Awards will be introduced to Business Travel Show 2016, as the event aims to highlight industry innovation and support new start-ups in the business travel arena.
Launchpad is an exhibition area for new businesses which must have been trading for two years or less. The first three Launchpad exhibitors have already been confirmed: beTravelwise, DUFL and Magic Event.
beTravelwise provides training courses designed to support organisations in their travel risk management programmes, while DUFL offers a personal valet that ships, cleans and stores a traveller’s business attire. Finally, MagicEvent.com is a French start-up that offers accommodation within the immediate vicinity of major business centres and conference venues.
The Travel Technology Disrupt Awards will be open to technology companies exhibiting at Business Travel Show and Travel Technology Europe. Finalists will take part in Dragon’s Den style pitching sessions during the show.
The winner, which will be crowned on 25 February 2016, will receive a three-hour consultancy session with travel technology entrepreneur and investor Matt Zito and the Travel Startups Incubator advisory team, plus a free exhibition stand at Business Travel Show 2017 worth £8,000. The entry deadline is 22 January 2016.
“One of the main drivers for buyers attending the Business Travel Show is to discover innovative new products and solutions that will work with their travel programmes and make their travellers’ lives easier,” said Business Travel Show’s event director, David Chapple.
“With exhibiting options from just £1,300 Launchpad will make it possible for new ventures to reach thousands of European key buyers who have the potential to make a huge difference to their future success.”
The Business Travel Show returns to London’s Olympia Grand on 24-25 February, and is expected to be attended by 250 exhibitors and 7,500 industry execs.
