JA Resorts & Hotels recently opened its first property in the Maldives – JA Manafaru. The opening represents the company’s continued expansion into the Indian Ocean, following the launch of the JA Enchanted Island Resort in the Seychelles.
David Thomson, chief operating officer of JA Resorts & Hotels, said: “We have taken special care in the refurbishment of interiors for global travellers, and we expect a increased interest from residents of UAE.”
JA Manafaru is part of the company’s larger expansion plan of high-end properties both within the UAE and in other markets outside of the Middle East. The property boasts 84 rooms consisting of beach villas and water villas with their own private pool.
The other activities offered include kids entertainment including arts and crafts, treasure hunts and guided snorkelling safaris while for parents it includes the spa and beauty complex, water sports, and PADI dive centre. The resort has also introduced a dedicated seaplane that will depart twice daily from Male airport.
Established as Dutco Hotels in 1981, JA Resorts & Hotels became an international hospitality brand in 2012. In addition to a collection of hotels in the United Arab Emirates, today the group also manages the JA Enchanted Island Resort in Sainte Anne National Marine Park, Seychelles.
