Malindo Air has continued to expand its international network with the launch of flights to Hong Kong.
The Kuala Lumpur-based airline will now operate daily direct flights on the new route. The outbound flights will depart KLIA 2 airport at 1015 and arrive at HKIA at 1410. The return services will then leave Hong Kong at 1510 and arrive back in KL at 1905.
Malindo will serve the route using its 162-seat, two-class Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
“There will be an upsurge of arrivals expected from Hong Kong attributed by the new Malindo Air’s daily services between Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong. With 1,134 seats per week now available, this could amount to about 59,000 Chinese per year from southern China taking advantage of the new flights to Kuala Lumpur,” claimed Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Malindo Air.
“Hong Kong is a very strategic tourist port and our expansion to Hong Kong is another effort to further boost the southern China’s outbound leisure and business travel to Malaysia.”
Hong Kong becomes Malindo’s second destination in Greater China, following Sanya. And it also marks the second new destination launched by the airline in 2016, following the start of services to Lahore in January.
