Phuket’s well known beach resort, The Boathouse, will be rebranded as the ‘The Boathouse by Montara’.
The property, located on Kata Beach, is owned by Thailand’s Montara Hospitality Group, and the renaming forms parts of a broader initiative by Montara to expand its portfolio and brand across Southeast Asia.
“With the rebranding, guests are reassured of not only the continuation of the resort’s international-standard… but also an encompassing lifestyle experience all under one umbrella,” said Bill Black, president of Montara.
The Boathouse was recently renovated to mark its 25th anniversary, and now includes a range of rooms and suites overlooking the sea, plus the Boathouse Wine & Grill restaurant, a bar, cooking school, beach club and spa.
Speaking to Travel Daily last year, Montara’s chairman Narong Pattamasaevi said the ‘by Montara’ brand would be suited to boutique beachfront resorts, and that he expects to have six or seven properties in the portfolio in the coming years.
‘By Montara’ will operate alongside Montara’s ultra-luxury ‘Trisara’ brand, which is also currently present in Phuket.
