JOHN M. SCOTT III has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Orient-Express Hotels. Scott, 47, is an experienced operator of luxury hotels and most recently served as President and CEO of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. He also becomes a company director.
BENIAMINO MALTESE has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Italian cruise company, Costa Crociere. In his 30-year career in Costa, Maltese has held several financial roles, including CFO of Spanish unit Iberocruceros.
HAZEM HUSSEIN has been named as the new Head of Amadeus Asia Pacific’s Airline Group. Based in Bangkok, Hussein has held management roles with Amadeus since 2005, in both the airline and travel agency divisions in Europe, Middle East, Africa and North America.
ARIEF GUNAWAN has been appointed Vice President of hospitality consultancy firm, HVS Indonesia. Gunawan, who has held senior roles in the hospitality and tourism industries across Southeast Asia, will be based in Jakarta and charged with the region’s development.
KATJA HENKE has been announced as the new General Manager of The Peninsula Bangkok, effective 27 December 2012. A German-Swiss national, Ms Henke is currently Hotel Manager of The Peninsula Shanghai. She has also worked at hotels in Switzerland, France and the UK.
MARTYN STANDEN has been named as the new General Manager of Oakwood Residence Beijing serviced apartments. A British national, Standen was most recently General Manager of the Sheraton Taipei and has also worked with Starwood, IHG and Marriott.
TIM WEEKS has been appointed Vice President of Business Development for RateGain, the revenue management technology company. A UK national, Weeks joins from Pegasus Solutions, where he served as the Regional Director of Strategic Accounts in the EMEA region.
MARK SLEIGH has been announced as the new General Manager for Destination Wollongong – the New South Wales city’s tourism board. Sleigh, who was born in Woolongong, has been operations manager for four major Sydney hotels and COO of Base Tourism Group.
