Following on from significant renovations and upgrades, American Safari Cruises vessel, the Safari Legacy, has announced its forthcoming itineraries for 2013 and 2014.
The Victorian replica steamer will sail two 11-night cruises between Seattle and Juneau on 11 and 22 August 2013 before starting a week-long cruise programme on the Columbia and Snake Rivers from where the ship will return to Alaska in 2014 for a full season.
“In both destinations, historical characters and stories come to life in unexpected ways,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “You may meet naturalist John Muir on the bow of the boat in Alaska or Meriwether Lewis along the river.”
The cruise will be made in collaboration with The Heritage Adventure Programme which will make onboard presentations and host offshore excursions retracing the area’s history, character re-enactments and guest speakers.
