German-small ship operator Hapay-Lloyd has officially taken ownership of its new vessel, the Europa 2.
In a formal ceremony at the STX France shipyard the managing director of Hapag-Lloyd Dr. Wolfgang Flagal and the general manager of STX France Laurent Castaing signed the official papers giving control to the ship owner.
Dr Flägel said: “Today is a special day for us. By the addition to the fleet of EUROPA 2, we are acquiring the latest generation of cruise ship, which embodies an entirely new type of luxury cruise at sea. I am certain that we will raise the bar with the EUROPA 2 in the luxury cruise sector.”
The Europa 2 is a 516-passenger that boasts the largest space per passenger of any cruise ship in the world.
