Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently joined the the #MyDubai initiative, announced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Launched via His Highness’ instagram and twitter accounts, #MyDubai is an initiative to create the world’s first autobiography of a city. The initiative also encourages people of Dubai to share moments of their lives, true culture and present the soul of the city through experiences.
DTCM will join the initiative by selecting contributions made by the people of Dubai, by showcasing the best photographs and videos on its social media channels – @definitelydubai. There will also be exhibitions and roadshows. To begin with, DTCM has showcased ten images posted with the #MyDubai hashtag, each of which highlight why Dubai is unique.
HE Helal Saeed Almarri, director-general, DTCM, said: “Dubai has more than 200 nationalities living together and this is an often untold part of the Emirate’s success. This passion has been demonstrated with more than 25,000 images and videos uploaded to Instagram with the #MyDubai just 12 hours after the project was launched.”
