Melia Hotels International’s Sol Hotels & Resorts brand has gone through a rebrand following the launch of its Calvia Beach resort in Mallorca.
The brand’s 70 hotels have been placed into four new categories to reposition each into a particular market offering.
Sol Hotels will remain the name for its traditional sun and beach properties with family services, while Sol Katmandu Park & Resort represents its ‘play and stay’ experience resort integrated within the theme park.
Sol House will be aimed at young millennials with affordable prices and a focus on design while the Sol Beach House is for adults only looking for a ‘hippie-chic’ style offering.
Each concept has its own dining options such as character breakfasts at Sol Katmandu and longer breakfast opening hours at Sol Beach House.
“This rejuvenation aims to generate further growth for the brand in key vacation destinations, improving its attractiveness and competitiveness,” said Melia’s vice chairman and CEO Gabriel Escarrer.
