Acquisitions and Ryanair deal push Amadeus results up

Recent acquisitions and a landmark deal with Ryanair have helped Amadeus improve its results for the first nine months of the year.
EBITDA raised 9.3% up to September 2014 to EUR1.037 billion and even without the acquisitions would have seen a 7% increase.
Revenue was up 9.4% to EUR2.58 billion, with its adjusted profit rising 9% to EUR557.2m.
During the same period travel agency bookings increase 4.5% to 356.2 million.
“Amadeus’ core businesses continued to show strength during the third quarter. The partnership with Ryanair is a landmark deal that underlines the company’s growth commitment in the low-cost and hybrid carriers´ segment. Travel agency bookings in this area have increased 17% in 2014, maintaining the fast growth rate registered in recent years. Overall, Amadeus’ market share in air travel agency bookings has again increased reaching 40.4%,” said Amadeus’ president and CEO Luis Maroto.
Its IT solutions arm saw passenger numbers increase 14.1% to 519.7m, with the Asia Pacific region the main growth driver.
Its recent acquisitions in Newmarket International, UFIS and i:FAO have also helped the firm expand in areas such as hotel and airport IT.
