The state of Andhra Pradesh has identified as many as 35,000 temples which will be conserved with the help of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) and the state archeology department. A project started by the endowments departments in 2010 for conservation of various temples in the state will now be revived in November. A report in Times of India stated that conservation architects teams commissioned by the department will visit these temples to suggest specific restoration plans and take necessary steps. According to the study, several temples in the state including 300-year-old Bhadrakali temple in Warangal, Jwala Narasimha temple, Ahobhilam and Sri Venkanna Swami temple in Nellore are not well maintained.
