Members of the Bali Tourism Board have planted 500 coconut trees on Legian Beach, Kuta, the Jakarta Post reported. The effort was led by Bali Vice Governor, Puspayoga, who commented that he welcomed all conservation efforts, especially in the island’s main tourist spots, but that people should consider the type of tree they are planting.
“It’s better to plant fewer plants that grow well than to a large number of trees that later die because they are neglected,” he was quoted saying.
