Tune up for an alpine adventure in Trentino, Italy

Ice-cool igloo concerts and ski jazz

Imagine swapping the post-Christmas January blues for the dazzling sparkle of snowy peaks and the cosy glow of an ice igloo concert. Or picture yourself tapping your ski boots to the soulful rhythm of a jazz festival nestled in an alpine wonderland. For a truly unique Italian holiday, trade the ordinary for the extraordinary and let Trentino be the setting for your next adventure.

From January through to April 2026, there’s some super cool events going on in Trentino. Here are the key dates for that perfect musical journey in the mountains.

Chilled igloo festivals in Trentino: Where ice meets music

From January 10 to April 4, 2026, the Parad-ice Music Festival presents a series of pop and rock concerts performed with ice instruments inside a giant igloo-shaped concert hall on the Presena Glacier.

An extraordinary, not-to-be-missed experience, the band perform at 2,600 meters in a jaw-dropping venue and playing instruments constructed entirely from ice.

Once again hosted by the Presena Glacier, between Trentino and Lombardy, and accessible via the Paradiso cable car from Passo Tonale (tickets for both lifts and concerts available online or at the valley ticket office), the festival offers events every Thursday and Saturday.

Leading audiences through this distinctive musical setting is The Parad-ice Band, a collective of diverse musicians.

The igloo’s design allows warm air from the audience’s breath to be naturally ventilated upwards and outside, keeping the instruments at the necessary cold temperature to make music. Crafted by artists Lino Mosconi, Giorgio Tomaselli and Matteo Aielli, the instruments remain in perfect condition for every performance. You need to see it to believe it!

The concerts take place from 10 January to 4 April 2026 every Thursday and Saturday afternoon in the Paradice Dome.

30th Dolomiti Ski Jazz 2026:  Soulful sounds on the slopes

Just when you think things can’t get any cooler in Trentino, along comes Dolomiti Ski Jazz. Get your groove on with nine days of jazz, funk and soul in the beautiful valleys of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa. We're talking top-notch music set against the snowy backdrop of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa. It's a magnificent event that’s been going strong for 30 years and a travel memory you won’t forget in a hurry.

From March 6-15, 2026, take in high-altitude concerts right on the slopes or enjoy fringe shows in local venues down in the valleys. Complementing the festival is Dolomiti Food Jazz, a gourmet showcase. This event features delicious performances in mountain huts and restaurants, highlighting local cheeses, wines and craft beer.
