A2Btransfers has bought out rivals Resorthoppa from Lowcosttravelgroup.

Lowcosttravelgroup will continue to work with the Resorthoppa brand and act as the exclusive GSA in Europe, where business is said to be growing ‘rapidly’. Overall the two are expected to carry 2.2 million passengers in more than 80 countries.

“The opportunity to operate two of the best known and well-loved transfer brands has lots of advantages for both businesses. The brands will run side by side as we will not only retain the longstanding reputation and product strength of Resorthoppa but will continue to build and develop this product,” said Renaldo Scheepers, CEO of A2Btransfers. “Most important for agents and customers is that we will continue to offer a wide choice of worldwide transfers at the most competitive prices”.

Phil Norris, sales director at A2B told Travel Daily UK it is signing up new travel agents and tour operators in Europe everyday and has looked elsewhere to grow while the UK market remains flat. “The acquisition will give us more buying power in resort and now as the largest transfer company in Europe we have another strength,” he added.

Paul Evans, CEO of Lowcosttravelgroup said the move is part of a shift in its business.

“This deal is part of our broader restructuring programme to rationalise and simplify our business and to focus on our core hotels and holidays business across Europe that is growing very nicely,” he explained.
