Flights to and from Abu Dhabi are expected to return to normal tomorrow morning (6 January) after its international airport temporarily closed at the weekend due to heavy rain and fog.
Etihad Airways said it expects to operate a normal service after attempting to get back to regular operations today.
This included laying on four additional relief flights to Jakarta, Jeddah, Phuket and Bangkok to recover stranded passengers.
The airline said it expects all its affected passengers to have departed by the end of today, and that many had rebooked to travel later this month.
It has also reviewed its policy into the amount of time that passengers sit on aircraft while waiting for a take-off slot, following complaints from passengers.
Abu Dhabi International Airport had to suspend flights on Saturday due to low visibility.
In Amman Royal Jordanian held a meeting to discuss preparations should the severe weather reach Jordan. Any flight schedule changes will be communicated through travel agents and text messages.
