The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority will host an agent roadshow next month for UK travel agents to push for more upscale hotel guests this year.
The London roadshow on 5 February will showcase several hotels and attractions in the emirate with the aim of increasing its tourist target to 2.8 million this year.
Hosted at the Jumeirah Carlton Towers in London, the event will include presentations and a prize draw, plus roundtable discussions with Yas Island, Desert Adventures, Anantara, Rotana and Jumeirah.
In 2013 the emirate saw 2.5m hotel guests, with 14% more British people staying in hotels and apartments.
“We look forward to welcoming the trade to the London roadshow,” said Nabeel Al Zarouni, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority’s UK country manager. “With its intriguing mix of modern and ancient Arabia, Abu Dhabi is fast becoming the affordable luxury getaway of choice for couples and families and the ideal stopover destination for both business and leisure travellers. Our roadshow represents a fantastic opportunity for the trade to discover more about how to sell one of the fastest-growing destinations in the market.”
