Accor has made its debut in Myanmar with the launch of a new hotel in the capital, Naypyidaw.
The Lake Garden hotel, which has become a member of Accor’s luxury MGallery Collection, is a new-build hotel set among tropical landscaped gardens and overlooking a lake. It is located five minutes’ drive from Myanmar International Convention Centre (MICC).
“We are delighted to add the Lake Garden Naypyidaw to the MGallery Collection of memorable hotels. This hotel opening will officially mark Accor’s return into Myanmar,” said Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar & the Philippines.
“This opening comes at a time when the capital is seeing an influx of visitors with a strong demand for an upscale accommodation with international standard facilities and superb services. The Lake Garden is the perfect accommodation for sophisticated customers looking for a memorable hotel experience in this capital city.”
The low-rise hotel, which is designed and decorated in a traditional Burmese style, offers 165 rooms and suites, plus two restaurants, a wine cellar and cigar room. Other facilities include a fitness centre, large outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and spa.
And for the corporate market, the Lake Garden features a large 250-pax capacity conference room six smaller meeting rooms and two boardrooms.
Accor is now planning to expand its footprint across Myanmar, with plans for new Novotels in Yangon, Mandalay and Lake Inle, along with Pullman and Sebel properties in Yangon.
