Accor has continued the expansion of its Chinese Mercure brand, Mei Jue, with the launch of a new property in Chengdu.
The Mercure Chengdu North opened this week, becoming Accor’s fifth hotel in the city, with another five in the pipeline. Located in the northern part of Chengdu, Mercure Chengdu North is 15 minutes’ drive from the city’s giant panda breeding centre – one of the most visited tourist attractions in the city.
The hotel will feature 290 rooms, all equipped with LED TVs and free Wi-Fi. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, bar, fitness centre, table-tennis room and extensive conferences and banqueting facilities, including the 800m² Zijin Grand Ballroom and four function rooms ranging from 50-130m².

Accor currently operates three ibis hotels and one Sofitel in Chengdu.
