Accor has signed an agreement to take over the Hilton on the Park hotel in Melbourne.
The 419-room city centre hotel will now be rebranded, re-emerging as the Pullman Melbourne on the Park on 1 January 2015.
“The Pullman brand… is highly regarded throughout Asia and Europe, and it makes sense for us to grow this brand in Melbourne where there is clear demand for quality internationally-branded hotels aimed at the corporate and upscale leisure markets,” said Simon McGrath, chief operating officer of Accor Pacific.
“The city has performed consistently well over a long period of time and we have been eager to find the right opportunity to expand the Pullman brand in this market.”
The property will join one other Pullman in Melbourne, Pullman Melbourne Albert Park, which emerged from a major refurbishment in September 2013. It also becomes the 12th Pullman hotel in Australia, and Accor stated that growing its Pullman collection in the country is a “key priority” for the group.
