Accor has announced plan to expand its upscale MGallery brand in Thailand, with the addition of two new hotels in – Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai and Veranda Resort & Spa Hua Hin-Cha Am.
“We are delighted to add these two properties to the MGallery Collection,” said Oswald Pichler, Vice President of Accor Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. “The two Veranda resorts will accommodate guests seeking unique and personalised experiences in Thailand’s most well-known retreat destinations: Chiang Mai in the north and Hua Hin – Cha Am on the gulf of Thailand.”
MGallery hotels are designed under one of the four themes – Vision, Design, History and Location. The Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai is categorised under the “location” theme, as it is set among the mountainous hills of northern Thailand. Each of the 69 rooms and villas has a large balcony overlooking the hills. The resort is also surrounded by a brickwork replica of Chiang Mai’s ancient city walls to isolate the resort from the outside world.
Surasak Wongkiatthaworn, Managing Director of Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai, said; “Amidst the beautiful mountains and in a cultural setting of Thailand’s north where cool and calm is the norm, guests can find that their stay here becomes a very soothing experience where time slows and they can eventually feel themselves as one with nature.”
Veranda High Resort Chiang Mai’s F&B facilities include ‘The Higher Room’, which offers all day international and Thai cuisine dining with an outdoor terrace, and the Rabiang Cha which serves contemporary Lanna (Northern Thai) cuisine in a traditional rice granary setting.
Other facilities include the Veranda Spa, which offers private cottages with large sunken baths, steam showers and treatment beds, as well as an infinity-edged swimming pool on the roof terrace, conference facilities for up to 250 people, a fitness centre, and a kid’s club.
Veranda Resort & Spa Hua Hin-Cha Am meanwhile, is categorised under the “design” theme. Located on the beachfront situated in between two beach destinations of Hua Hin and Cha Am, the 118-room and villas resort features a modern Asian design.
