Accor has announced that its will launch its upscale Pullman brand in India this summer. The opening of 285-room Pullman Gurgaon Central Park, in Delhi’s commercial satellite city, will mark the fourth Accor brand in the country, following Novotel, Mercure and ibis.
Since entering India in 2004, Accor has opened eight hotels representing 1,525 rooms and has commitments for a further 52 hotels with in excess of 10,000 rooms, many of which are already under construction. Accor aims to open 21 hotels adding over 4,800 rooms to Accor’s Indian hotel network by the end of 2012.
Commenting on the Pullman brand’s forthcoming hotel opening in India, Michael Issenberg, Chairman and Chief Operating Officer – Accor Asia Pacific said “India today is one of the world’s most exciting growth markets with strong demand across all segments. The Pullman hotel brand currently operates 18 Pullman hotels and resorts across Asia Pacific and has a further 27 properties under development. One hundred Pullman hotels and resorts are anticipated for Asia Pacific by 2013.
