Accor is setting up a string of low-cost hotels under its brand, Formule 1, in India. The Hindu Business Line reported the company’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Jean Michel Casse, as saying in an interview that the room rates at the budget hotels would be less than INR2,000 a day, and that the first Formule 1 would open in Noida in January 2012. The group is targeting 25-30 such hotels in the country by 2020.
“We are planning to open such hotels in Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad within a year or so,” Casse said.
