Accor has unveiled a new interior design at three of its ibis Budget hotels in Australia, following the rebranding of all Formule 1 properties to the new brand.

The AU$3.2 million (US$2.9m) refurbishment of the ibis Budget Brisbane Airport, ibis Budget Melbourne Airport and ibis Budget Dandenong encompassed the lobby areas, breakfast rooms and guestrooms.

The ibis Budget Brisbane Airport was the first to be completed, and now features a new open plan check-in desk and new furnishings. The ibis Budget Dandenong and ibis Budget Melbourne Airport have both been equipped with new furnishings in the breakfast rooms and lobby area.

“This is a testament to Accor’s confidence in continuing to strengthen its economy portfolio. Since the announcement of the three-tiered ibis brand restructure in 2011, we have seen strong positive results across the ibis brand family,” said Simon McGrath, chief operating officer of Accor Pacific.

“Accor is committed to revolutionising economy hotels and will continue to invest in the Ibis brand portfolio in Australia.”

The next new ibis Budget hotel scheduled to reopen is the ibis Budget Windsor in Brisbane, which will be unveiled on 1 April 2014.
