Raffles Convention Centre was a hub of activity last Thursday as AccorHotels celebrated its largest-ever Showcase in Singapore, with over 750 clients, travel agents, airline partners and industry partners in attendance including GTA, BCD Meetings & Events, Carlson Wagonlit, MCI, Booking.com and more.
The event capped a milestone year for AccorHotels in which it acquired the Raffles, Fairmont and Swissotel brands; invested in the private rental space through One Fine Stay, Oasis Collections and Squarebreak; and announced innovative new lifestyle brands including Jo&Joe, John Paul and 25Hours Hotels.
“The AccorHotels Showcase is a signature event on the AccorHotels calendar and is the single best opportunity for us to meet with our clients, showcase our latest openings and thank our industry partners for their support,” said Graham Wilson, Chief Distribution and Marketing Officer AccorHotels Asia Pacific. “As we are now the largest hotel operator in Singapore we really wanted to build on the success of previous events by making this year’s bigger and better than ever and we were thrilled to see so many of our industry friends in attendance.”
With delegates representing 4100 hotels across 95 countries, the event started with a VIP lunch, followed by an insightful Q&A session with Bloomberg presenter Haslinda Amin speaking with Michael Issenberg, Chairman & CEO AccorHotels Asia Pacific on key challenges and trends in the industry.
This was followed by a three-hour networking session where delegates could discover the group’s newest openings and meet with hotel representatives from across the region and finally by a cocktail session where DJ XX played while food and wine flowed freely.
Accommodation prizes from across the AccorHotels network were awarded throughout the day, with Dorothy Goh of Marsh taking home the grand prize of two business class seats with British Airways to Paris via London and five nights’ accommodation at the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, the closest international hotel to the city’s most famous monument.
AccorHotels Showcase (formerly World of Accor) is the largest and most successful hotel exhibition and sales mission in the region and has been running for 13 years. Last year more than 7000 delegates attended AccorHotels Showcases in cities including Sydney, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New Delhi, Singapore and Tokyo.
