Action Hotels, Accor highlight importance of mid-economy hotels

Action Hotels has announced its intent to further roll-out of properties under management by AccorHotels.
The group’s founder and chairman, HE Sheikh Mubarak A M Al Sabah held high-level development talks with Sebastien Bazin, AccorHotels’ chairman and CEO, in the presence of HE Christian Nakhle, French ambassador.
Sheikh Mubarak confirmed that six hotels are already operating and another five are in the pipeline across Accor’s ibis, Novotel and Mercure brands including new hotels in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sohar completing by end of 2015. Action Hotels is one of Accor’s leading partners in the Middle East with more than 2000 rooms and 11 hotels.
The talks focused on strong demand for quality economy and mid-market hotels in the region, highlighting opportunities for growth.
Sheikh Mubarak said: “There is strong demand for economy and mid-economy hotels throughout the region. Indeed, we founded Action Hotels to address this very clear market opportunity to develop midscale and economy hotels in the Middle East.”
