ADNEC focuses on Business Tourism

The growing focus of Abu Dhabi as a business destination is having an impact on several verticals. In line with this growing trend, Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) recently hosted a workshop titled ‘Together for a Better Business Tourism Sector’. The workshop provided an update to the local business tourism community on latest sectoral developments.
The workshop outlined the anticipated role of the MICE sector in supporting the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. Presentations included officials from ExCel London, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and ADNEC.
The business tourism sector was analysed locally and globally, and factors that impact the competitiveness of Abu Dhabi and ADNEC. Suggestions and feedback from strategic partners were invited towards the formulation of ADNEC’S strategic plan for 2015 – 2019.
HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, managing director of ADNEC, said: “The workshop is aligned with the vision and aspirations of our wise leadership to advance contributions of the thriving tourism industry. This is one of the key sectors identified by Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, towards overall economic development of the emirate.”
The initiative is expected to lead to greater cooperation and coordination between ADNEC and its strategic partners through horizontal alignment of priorities.
