Air Astana launches new route to Russia
Air Astana has launched a new direct flight connecting Almaty to the Russian city of Kazan.
The service is operated three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday) using a two-class, 98-seat Embraer 190 aircraft.
Kazan, the capital of the Russian region of Tatarstan, becomes Air Astana’s seventh route into Russia, following existing services from Almaty to Moscow, St Petersburg and Samara, and from Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital, to Moscow, Novosibirsk and Yekaterinburg.
“The new Air Astana flight between Tatarstan and Kazakhstan is a long-awaited service not only for the 250,000 Tatars and Bashkirs of Kazakhstan, but also for all those who call Kazakhstan their second home. We hope that these regular flight connections will enable the socio-political, economic and cultural relations between one of the largest regions in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan to become even closer“, said Taufik Karimov, President of the Tatar and Bashkir’s Association of National Cultural Centers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
