Air Astana has launched a new direct service connecting Kazakhstan’s capital Astana with Bangkok.
The route was officially launched today (15 December 2014) and will now operate twice a week, every Monday and Thursday. It will operate alongside Air Astana’s existing daily service to Bangkok from Kazakhstan’s largest city, Almaty.
The Astana route will be operated using a 223-seat, two-class Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
“With business and leisure traffic between Kazakhstan and Thailand continuing to grow strongly, we are delighted to launch this new service between the two capital cities,” said Peter Foster, president of Air Astana.
The new service marks the latest stage of Air Astana’s expansion from Kazakhstan’s capital; since 2012 the carrier has introduced new services from Astana to Baku, Beijing, Bishkek, London, Omsk, St Petersburg and Tashkent.
