The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) will give high priority to air connectivity in remote areas. The Minister of Civil Aviation, Ajit Singh said air connectivity to Northeast and Tier II & III cities of India is high on his priorities. A Route Dispersal Guidelines will be formed to put in place aircraft acquisition and development of low cost airports.
Singh at the recently held fifth ASSOCHAM International Conference on Indian Civil Aviation in New Delhi said, “The sector included getting ATF declared as notified product to bring transparency in its pricing and reduction of VAT on ATF by states, creation of Civil Aviation Authority to manage air traffic with safety, infrastructure development and building low cost airports.”
The Ministry is looking at restructuring Airports Authority of India (AAI) into ANS & Civil Wing to make it more effective, efficient and professional. It also looks at building a separate Civil Aviation Security Force to augment skills set in the civil aviation sector.
