Air Costa is planning to apply for a pan-India license in the next six to eight months.
Under the airline’s current license, the Vijaywada-based carrier cannot fly to metro cities outside the southern region.
The airline has commenced commercial operations starting this week and operates 12 fights to six Indian cities – Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Vijaywada. “The airline has started operations with two 80-seater Embraer 170 jets and will induct eight 112-seater Embraer 190 planes by the end of 2014, making it a fleet size of 10,” Air Costa’s CEO, K N Babu was quoted by the Economic Times.
