Air France has issued a statement that there has been a call for a strike by several Air France staff unions for Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18, Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 April 2018.

The airline has said that it is currently too early to evaluate the possible impacts on passengers and it will issue another update as soon it has a more accurate estimate of the number of employees on strike. TD will keep you updated as to Air France’s affected flight schedule.

Fortunately, services operated by aircraft other than that of Air France or Joon will not be affected by this strike – this includes HOP!, KLM and Delta.

If you are booked on a flight departing on the dates mentioned above, Air France will offer rebooking options at no extra cost.

Postponing trips

Here’s what to do if you want to change your upcoming trip(s), separated out by the intended date of your trip:

10 / 11 April

If you have a valid Air France ticket, issued on or before 2 April, for a flight operated by Air France or Joon on 10 or 11 April, you can postpone your trip between 8 and 15 April 2018. Air France recommends you to avoid rebooking on another day impacted by the strike.

Modify your booking

A voucher valid for one year on Air France, Joon, KLM or HOP flights! will be given to you if you prefer to postpone your trip beyond 15 April 2018, change destination or departure city, or cancel your trip.

17 / 18 / 23 / 24 April

If you have a valid Air France ticket, issued on or before 5 April, for a flight operated by Air France or Joon on 17, 18, 23 or 24 April, you can postpone your trip between 15 and 30 April 2018. The airline recommends you to avoid rebooking on another day impacted by the strike.

Modify your booking

A voucher valid for one year on Air France, Joon, KLM or HOP flights! will be given to you if you prefer to postpone your trip beyond 30 April 2018, change destination or departure city, or cancel your trip.

Your rights

Especially given the recent rulings against airlines such as Emirates on passenger compensation, we thought it would be useful to add a link to the Air France’s assistance and compensation Ts and Cs, as required by Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
