Air India Express launches new routes

Air India Express, the low-cost airline of the Indian national carrier Air India, has launched service on two routes from Abu Dhabi to Chennai and Tiruchirapally and has also increased the number of fights to Kochi to six per week from five per week, reports the Hindustan Times.
Beginning April 30, Air India Express is flying to Chennai and Tiruchirapally every Thursday and Saturday. A Boeing 737-800 in an Economy Class configuration will service the new routes.
Reiterating the airline’s commitment to Abu Dhabi, Air India & Air India Express Executive Director (Middle East & Africa) Fali D Warden said: “With the introduction of direct air links from Abu Dhabi International Airport to Tiruchirapally in Tamil Nadu, we are confident that the new flights will be successful in attracting passengers not only from the immediate vicinity but from the nearby districts.”
