Air India to boost Dreamliner fleet

Air India will receive eight more Dreamliner aircraft by December 2013.
The airline has already received six Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft and has proposed to resume operations from 22 May 2013. By the end of this year, Air India will have a total availability of 14 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in its fleet.
The Minister of Civil Aviation, Ajit Singh said that the first commercial flight will restart from 15 May 2013, for which all operational regulatory requirements have been complied with and all pilots have been subjected to the required checks before release for flight duties.
The airline has also proposed to start new international routes with the addition of Boeing 787 fleet. These routes include Delhi-Birmingham-Delhi and Delhi-Sydney/Melbourne-Delhi from August 2013, Delhi-Rome/Milan-Delhi from October 2013 and Delhi-Moscow-Delhi from early 2014.
