Air New Zealand has received government approval for its codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. The new codeshare services will be available for sale from 14 April, for travel from 18 April. Under the agreement, Etihad will codeshare on Air New Zealand’s trans-Tasman and domestic services. Air New Zealand meanwhile, will codeshare on Etihad’s services between Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi and between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow. The deal will also integrate the airlines’ loyalty programmes, enabling Airpoints and Etihad Guest members to earn and redeem points on each other’s flights.
