The first Airbus A320 aircraft bearing Air New Zealand’s new livery took to skies this week.
The new white livery features a black tail with the New Zealand fern emblem in contrasting white. While most of the airline’s fleet will sport this white version of the livery, the carrier will also continue to operate a small number of aircraft with an all black livery, due to the airline’s sponsorship of New Zealand’s national rugby team, the All Blacks.
The new livery will be progressively rolled out across Air New Zealand’s domestic and international fleet, including the long-haul Boeing 777 aircraft and its new fleet of 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, which are due to enter service in 2014.
Air New Zealand currently operates a fleet on 49 jet aircraft, with outstanding orders for a further 21.
