AirAsia is starting direct daily flights to Guangzhou via Baiyun airport from the LCC Terminal in Kuala Lumpur from January 16.
This will be the fourth destination to mainland China after Shenzhen, Xiamen and Macau within the group.
Kathleen Tan, Regional Head of Commercial, AirAsia, said, as a global manufacturing centre, Guangzhou will attract robust demand.
“We have a strong brand in Southern China that we have worked hard to build over the last few years. Our low fares have stimulated new market segments and attracted many Malaysian small and medium size businesses that have growing vested interest in China.”
The flight leaves Kuala Lumpur at 05:50 and arrives in Guangzhou at 09:50. The return flight leaves at 10:25 and arrives back in Kuala Lumpur at 14:25.
Currently, AirAsia operates four direct flights to Shenzhen as a group with two daily flights from Kuala Lumpur, one daily flight from Bangkok and Kota Kinabalu.
