The inaugural flight touched down in Bangladesh’s capital on 10 July 2015 and AirAsia will now serve the route daily using its 180-seat, all-economy Airbus A320 aircraft.
“We are very glad to be returning to Dhaka with the successful inaugural flight,” said Spencer Lee, AirAsia’s head of commercial. “It is always a proud moment for all of us to see another inaugural flight taking off as it signifies yet another addition to our extensive flight network, adding on to our excellent connectivity to Asia and beyond for all of our guests.
“As Malaysia and Bangladesh have existing and strong bilateral ties, especially in trade and investment, we at AirAsia are proud to bolster this relationship by providing a bridge between both nations through our daily flights,” Lee added.
The new service will depart Kuala Lumpur International Airport every day at 2155, arriving at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2345. The return flights will then leave the Bangladeshi capital at 0025, arriving back into KL at 0625.
