The government of Sarawak has offered a piece of land to AirAsia for the development of a dedicated low-cost carrier terminal (LCCT) at Kuching International Airport. Malaysian news agency, Bernama, reported Sarawak’s Deputy Chief Minister, Dr George Chan, as saying that the state government is now in discussions with AirAsia over the hub’s development.
“The state government has offered land to AirAsia to set up a LCCT here. Now, AirAsia just needs to build the terminal,” Dr Chan was quoted saying.
He added that the establishment of the LCCT in Kuching would help double the state’s tourism revenue.
