AirAsia takes off for Taipei

AirAsia X’s first flight from Kuala Lumpur to Taipei departed yesterday, carrying 338 passengers - an 88% load factor. The long-haul low-cost carrier will serve the route five times a week from its base at KL’s LCCT. The group’s CEO, Tony Fernandes also used the occasion to announce plans to launch AirAsia services between Singapore and Miri, in Malaysia’s Sarawak region.
