AirAsia X to launch Saudi flights
AirAsia X has announced that it will commence flights to Saudi Arabia next month.
From 16 February 2013, the airline will launch three weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Jeddah, increasing to four flights per week from 1 May 2013.
“AirAsia X is delighted to announce the launch of Jeddah, which is the 14th destination in our network. With Jeddah being the gateway to holy cities of Madinah and Makkah, we are delighted that our services will provide more affordable travel for our Muslim guests in Malaysia and throughout the region to perform the holy pilgrimage of Hajj and Umrah,” said Azran Osman-Rani, CEO of AirAsia X.
“Similarly, guests from Saudi Arabia will have the opportunity to travel across our extensive network in Southeast Asia and beyond. We believe that AirAsia’s wide network… will create new travel demand from Saudi Arabia,” he added.
The new Jeddah route will be operated using AirAsia X’s two-class Airbus A330-300 aircraft, featuring flat bed seats in business class.
