Airbnb has been named an Official Accommodation Partner of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015.
The region has seen impressive growth recently with a 300% increase in guests staying through Airbnb, and 87% more hosts year-on-year. The annual Fringe brings a huge influx of performers and spectators to the city, who all need a place to stay.
James McClure, UK GM of Airbnb, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 and officially bring home sharing to this year’s event. With visitors arriving from around the world, Edinburgh will become home to tens of thousands of people over the course of the festival, all looking to experience true Scottish hospitality and explore the beautiful city.”
As an official partner, Airbnb plans to arrange exclusive activities and experiences for its guests at this year’s event.
The full programme for the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe is launched on Thursday 4 June.
